CLFAMC is a joint venture asset manager of the China Life Group and Franklin Templeton Investments. We are one of the major institutional investors in the region with sizable AUM. In order to support our product diversification and business expansion, we are seeking an experienced individual to join our Fixed Income Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate macro views on global economy, with a particular focus on China, the United States, and Europe. Stay informed about regulatory changes, geopolitical events, and currency policies that impact the money market.
- Be the derivative specialist working alongside Portfolio Managers and provide bespoke and customized derivative solutions aligning with hedging objectives and strategies for our fixed income portfolios. Provide expert guidance on derivative tools, market trends and risk management strategies.
- Able to work independently and execute derivative trades.
- Demonstrate astute market awareness and thorough understanding of the investment mandates and ISDA agreement. Participate in the negotiation of ISDA agreements.
- Monitor trends in interest rates, foreign exchange and other FX-associated derivatives, conduct analysis on volatility arbitrage, dispersion and correlation.
- Deliver high-quality presentations and present to senior executives during investment committee meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics. Working towards or already holding a CFA qualification or FRM charter is a plus.
- Familiar with FX and other hedging tools commonly used in fixed income portfolios e.g. FX Forward, Option, Future and Cross Currency Swaps.
- Familiar with economy, markets and policymaking environment in China, Asia, Europe and the US.
- Understanding of local regulatory framework (especially with type 1/4/9 background) on the practice of derivative hedging.
- Familiar with trading platforms used in fixed income space.
- At least 3 years of research and trading experience at an asset manager or investment bank, with excellent analytical skills in corporate finance and macro-economics.
- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in both written English and Chinese are a MUST.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders.
- Proven knowledge in building Macro tools: Excel, VBA, R, SQL, C++, Matlab, Python.
